Jacqueline Chavez is professionally trained, New Mexico based Makeup Artist. Her love for Make Up began in 2010 where her passion blossomed into a career. She has an impeccable eye and devotion to the perfect balance of artistry.
Jacqueline describes makeup artistry as "painting a Canvas" she explains, "every canvas is different," referring to her clients, whether that be in shape, color, texture, etc. Each canvas has a story. In makeup artistry, no canvas is exactly like another. No face is exactly like another. That is what makes her job beautiful and exciting.
Jacqueline began her makeup career as an Assistant Manager at Sephora inside JCPenny's and a consultant for Mary Kay. She took a leap of faith leaving Sephora to follow her dream as a freelance makeup artist full time. That same year Jacqueline began her certification at Rain Make Up Academy, Not only did she finish her schooling her passion didn’t stop there. She continued to spend her free time to study all current and new trends.
After completing her certification she then started her professional career with Phoenix Modeling Agency modeling agency where she built her clientele and portfolio. Although Jacqueline was very thankful for the opportunities the agency brought to her she felt the need to move on.
From Jacquelines’ previous positions at Sephora and Mary Kay she knew she had a love for educating people on different products and applications which lead her into her next accomplishment. She became a certified educator under Make Up Designory. With her certification she spent time teaching at Callas Beauty Institute. Jacqueline has not stopped teaching. She has built a team of aspiring make-up artists that are willing to learn, grow and conquer.
She went on to work for the makeup artistry brands, such as MAC Cosmetics and Too Faced Cosmetics. Chavez spent over 4 years refining her skills and broadening her makeup experiences through these companies. She completed a rigorous, comprehensive certification makeup-artistry training program and continued to acquire education on current makeup trends, techniques, and latest product knowledge. Jacqueline left her position with these companies, to expand her career as a freelance Makeup Artist and to be able to better accommodate her growing clientele.
Throughout the last ten years Jacqueline has worked with many talented models, photographer and even agencies which include; Elite Model Management, Evolve Models, MTM Model Management and NEXT. She has been featured in Imirage Magazine, Surreal Beauty Magazine, Elegant Magazine, just to name a few. She has also made a name for herself in the film industry, where in 2017 she was able to work on her 1st feature as a key make-up artist called "14 Cameras".
She finds that lately that has been a great focus and she had been driven to learn all there is to know about specializing in film. However that hasn't stopped here from growing in her art, as she has a new love in for the stage makeup, she finds that building a character for the stage is very satisfying and something she enjoys.
Today, Jacqueline continues to work passionately, creating exquisite makeup looks on faces everywhere and helping her clients to feel confident and look their best!
